2 for 1 Lifemiles Promo

Fantastic deal alert! 2 for 1 (4 for 2, 6 for 3, or 8 for 4) on almost all Avianca Lifemiles award flights when flying Avianca!

Excluded Cities

"Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte origin and destination are excluded, and no stopovers are permitted."

Deadline to Book: 11:59 PM on 12/29/23

"The period for the redemption of tickets under the promotion is from December 27th, 2023 (00:01 GMT -6) to December 29th, 2023 (23:59 GMT -6)."

You would think that means around 1 AM, but that appears to not factor into the equation daylight savings time. EST at the moment is the same time as it is in Bogota, Columbia, where Lifemiles is based out of.

Travel Dates February-May

"Travel February 1 – March 19 or April 4 – May 31"

Getting Lifemiles

Point purchase options during promos are solid, and transfer promos from at least a few mileage currencies in the past have been up to 25%.

Lower Costs w/ Club Lifemiles

Those with Club Lifemiles get discounted award rates when flying on Avianca. If you have Club Lifemiles, this deal could get even sweeter. Pricing mentioned below w/ examples are for those without Club Lifemiles. That said, a chat rep told me this wouldn't occur, but they appeared to not know anything about the promo beyond what was explicitly stated in the terms, and even those they didn't know all that well. The promo doesn't mention Club LM.

When Used for Others

A chat rep initially stated that it couldn't be used unless the Lifemiles member, but then stated that it could be used if not flying yourself after I argued with them using other terms they weren't familiar with since I could see that they were clearly taking some liberties and didn't really know.

Example Round Trip Itineraries for 2:

DC to San Salvador, El Salvador as low as 25k Lifemiles

DC to Bogota, Columbia as low as 22.88k Lifemiles

An example would be 2 people round trip from for as little as 22.88k Lifemiles! For a more traditional seat (i.e. coming with a free carry on and free checked bag), pricing is 36k on the same itinerary.

For 2 people from the 17th-24th from DC-Bogota, the total cost in miles & $ for Main Comfort w/ no further paid seat upgrade would be 33,880+($129.49*2)= 33,880+$258.98

Compare that to the comparable paid price for 2 of $1050.20, that's a savings of $791.22, or 2.3 cents per Avianca Lifemile:

Because that's Wed travel, you could get higher value per point if choosing a more peak day, with the $ cost going up but miles travel rates staying the same and plenty of availability.
