Referral Link Rules for Facebook Travel Hacking Group

In this article, I wanted to share exclusively about those rules currently present in my travel hacking Facebook group that pertain to referral links. Keep in mind that these rules change over time, so check the group rules for the most up-to-date information. No Predatory SPAM Posts - Not all credit/debit cards are good for most people. Moderators may ask questions to discern the value added or removed to people in the group.

There are certain people who want to take of others' finances through various capacities in a predatory/parasitic fashion. It is fine to share posts that include referral links but if you are unwilling to publicly & promptly answer questions that moderators ask, know that your post will be removed.

Duplicate Posts & Limits On Referral Link Volume

Don't post the same thing or nearly the same thing 2x. If advertising/using a referral link, don't show the same product or do >1 self promoting posts more than 1/yr unless you have contributed 5 quality posts with no referral links in between. No referral posts when others did 1 on the same card in the past 4 months. Don't mention referrals on comments on >1 wk old posts. Article shares you've authored shouldn't be >1/wk.

Disclosure of financial incentive for referrals (most often broken rule on referral links)

Whenever providing a referral link, you must disclose that you can receive compensation for others using that referral link. [Related: No bumps; no referral links w SUB lower than public offer; no offers for $ for using your referral link; no liking/other on your own post]

Limits on # of posts

You can post max 1 post per day unless a moderator. Comments are unlimited unless self-promos. If your post is self-promoting, you can post max 1/yr unless contributing 5 quality non-self-promoting posts in between, & then once/month, unless an educational article/blog. If posting a blog, your name must clearly be on the blog & don't share >1/wk unless a moderator.

Importance of Accuracy Especially w Referral links

Don't troll. Don't say things like "best cashback card" or "best points card" without any qualifying statements (i.e. for those spending __ amount on __ who don't want to deal with _). If making any statement w qualifiers, be sure that it's accurate.

Answer moderators promptly or tell them you will.

Moderators help sift out predatory posts, SPAM, illegal content, and other content that shouldn't be in this group. Answer moderators within 24 hrs or let them know within 24 hrs that you need to research an answer then answer promptly in 24 more hrs
